Perth Bride Magazine Takes a Step Forward for Marriage Equality
8 August 2013
The latest edition of Perth Bride Magazine hits the stands today and celebrates our first magazine to feature a same sex marriage, and it won’t be the last! Having publically shared their stance on marriage equality in the past, Perth Bride Magazine are delighted to feature one amongst their 20 real life weddings and encourage same sex couples to submit their weddings in order to further enrich future editions.
“We’re really proud that this issue we’re able to feature a same sex marriage. The couple is beautiful and shares the same love any other couple would, why wouldn't we have them in the magazine?” – Sharon O’Sullivan, Owner & Editor-in-Chief
As one of the biggest and most influential bridal magazines in the state Perth Bride Magazine are extremely excited to use their influential position to increase the acceptance and normality of same sex marriages in our society and are betting that their readers will agree that the additional content will further enhance the experience of the magazine.

“We are equally as excited to celebrate the unity between two women as we are of one between a man and a woman”. - Laura Huhne, Assistant Editor.
While previously only available through news agencies and on the iPad, the new edition of the magazine is the first pushed out digitally across all Apple and Android devices, providing the ease of one touch access to wedding suppliers and richer digital content.
Perth Bride Magazine has served the wedding industry for over 26 years. It is a unique and distinctively designed magazine sitting between a book and a magazine and with over 300 pages of local wedding suppliers and information, it is the essential item to have for any bride-to-be.
“The legalization of same sex marriage doesn’t mean anything if it is not widely accepted within our mainstream society, therefore our actions can really make a positive impact on the perceptions of Australians as we continue to move forward as a single and united society.” - Laura Huhne, Assistant Editor.
